Labour Employment and Empowerment Programme (LEEP), a renewed hope initiative led by His Excellency, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tunubu and the Honorable Minister of State, Labour and employment, Hon. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha aimed at creating 2.5 million jobs annually for Nigerians.
The Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment (FMLE), is responsible for the development and promotion of productive employment policies and programs for employment generation and actualization of the National Action Plan on Employment creation of the Federal Government while also overseeing relations between workers and employers in Nigeria.
LEEP’s vision to create 2.5 million jobs is underpinned by five core pillars. Each pillar addresses a critical aspect of Nigeria’s employment landscape, aiming to tackle challenges related to unemployment, skill gaps, and job access.
Submission of application is online via the LEEP Empowerment portal at leep.gov.ng.

PROGRAMS AVAILABLE IN LEEP PROGRAM
1. Digital Nomads
- This pillar focuses on empowering Nigerian youths to access the global job market with in-demand digital skills to help them thrive.
2. VEP
- Vocational and Entrepreneurship Program aims to equip Nigerians with skills for self-employment and Entrepreneurship.
3. NELEX
- NELEX will serve as a central hub for employment recruitment and management, helping job seekers connect with employers
4. Job Fairs
The LEEP job fairs bring job seekers face-to-face with employers across Nigeria in both the private and public sector.
5. Center for Learning Spaces
- This initiative will focus on upgrading existing training centers into modern hubs for skill acquisition amongst other activities.
